(She has now settled well into supported living)
At some point our lovely young people have to leave us and when we receive letters such as the one below we know that all the care, fundraising and effort that goes into making sure every child and their family feels special has been worthwhile.
“Disha started at Cherry Trees in 2008, when she was thirteen years old. Disha was a very difficult girl to manage due to multiple problems. She was very attached to her Mum. As parents we had reached saturation point managing her without a break for thirteen years. It was through the social worker team that we first heard about Cherry Trees. Disha started with tea visits followed by overnight stays. Surprisingly, she settled well there in a short time. We could see the joy and excitement on her face when she used to come back from Cherry Trees. The staff are amazing and took care of her every need. Importantly, the staff respected the background we came from and understood her vegetarian dietary needs. We loved the way the children and staff enjoyed the time together with lots of laughter, fun and activities. Cherry Trees came as a boon in our life. We could get a respite from the non stop caring of the last thirteen years. Cherry Trees is amazing the way it has transformed Disha and our lives for good. Because of Cherry Trees, Disha has settled in her new suppported living home without any complications. This is such a pleasant surprise. Without any hesitation we can say that the credit goes to Cherry Trees for transforming Disha from a girl with complicated challenging behaviour to a confident, independent young lady of eighteen.
We owe a lot to Cherry Trees and shall do whatever we can to support them.
Long live Cherry Trees!”
