Our thanks to our volunteer life coach therapist, masseur and yoga teacher and holistic therapy practitioner.
Many of our parents are under considerable stress and strain. Parents of children with special needs are more likely to experience relationship breakdown than other parents. They often worry about balancing time between a child with special needs and their siblings, who may find that they receive less time and attention from parents. Many of our parents are under extreme financial pressure – It costs three times more to raise a disabled child and sometimes a family loses income because of the difficulties of caring and holding down a job.
There are many other concerns for our parents such as battling to get the support they need, child transition and their child’s future and isolation. At Cherry Trees we aim to offer as much support as we can to our parents and we are extremely lucky to have the volunteer services of, Alma Griffith who provides invaluable therapy and life coaching for our parents, Gulsay Durmus a qualified yoga teacher and masseur and Emma Essa, an experienced holistic therapy practitioner, who listens and supports our parents in times of stress and confusion, along with Carmen O’Connor who offer our parents and staff massages at a reduced rate.
We cannot thank you for your invaluable time and the amazing service that you provide for Cherry Trees.
